Astoria Hotel in Seoul

For four nights in Seoul, we stayed at Astoria Hotel.

Astoria Hotel, one of the pioneers in the Myeongdong area, had affordable rates so I was no longer surprised to see that our room was old and compact.

We didn't sign up for a smoking room though so I was annoyed when our room smelled of stale cigarette smoke. I first requested for air freshener but housekeeping said that it was unavailable. But when I called front desk demanding to be given a non-smoking room, the solution they offered was a can of air freshener!

I Guess They Only Offer Air Freshener to Irate Customers
We were only transferred to a non-smoking room after one night and none of the staff apologized for the mix up in our reservations. Needless to say,  hospitality is non-existent at Astoria Hotel  and borders on being rude so I don't recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.

For those interested, breakfast is at Astoria Hotel's restaurant Bella Coolla.

Breakfast is decent and filling at least. Here are some of our plates:

We will be visiting Korea next year around June and it seems Astoria is a good hotel. Thanks for posting this. :)
