Staying at Eskaya Beach Resort

From Bohol Bee Farm, we moved to Eskaya Beach Resort & Spa, the only resort from the Philippines that was included in the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club Yearbook for 2015. The prestigious book features only the best luxury hotels, resorts, and hotspots in the world.

Eskaya Beach Resort & Spa is a sprawling estate covering 16 hectares, perfect for vacationers seeking the utmost privacy.

When we arrived, we were first brought to the Dawatan Reception where we were given refreshments.

The property being vast, a golf cart was utilized to bring us to our room after check-in.

We were assigned to Balai 1, a  detached one story villa that has a Filipino theme.

Our villa was very spacious and had all the modern convenience of the city without losing its relaxed, slow paced resort vibe.

There was a jetted bathtub in the middle of our outdoor bathroom, a feature which I'm sure is most appreciated by honeymooners.

My favorite part of the villa was our own private pool, accessible directly from the room.

The pool is shallow, ideal for a leisurely swim.

It was hard to leave the comforts of our villa, but we eventually forced ourselves to explore the private beach of Eskaya.

While the beachfront of Eskaya was impressive with its perfectly manicured white sand, it can't compare to the natural beauty of Palawan or Boracay.

What sets Eskaya's beach apart though is the privacy and seclusion it offers. It's rare to spot other guests frolicking by the shore so it's like we had our own pocket of paradise.

Eskaya's infinity pool is what lured us to stay a night at the resort and it did live up to expectations. The infinity pool with the ocean backdrop was as mesmerizing at it was in pictures.

Aside from the complimentary breakfast, we also ordered ala carte during our stay at Eskaya. Unsurprisingly, having dinner there was not cheap but the food we had was well above decent.

We capped our Eskaya experience with massage at the resort's Haduraw Spa.  Impressive facility,  tranquil ambiance, and masterful stokes... we couldn't have asked for more!

I'm glad that I was able to visit Eskaya but I will not be back anytime soon. While I had a completely pleasant experience, I feel that Eskaya is a bit overpriced for what it is offering.  I would only recommend it to couples who are willing to pay premium for privacy.

Eskaya Beach Resort & Spa is located at Barangay Tawala, Panglao Island, Bohol, Philippines. Room rate starts at 18,000php per night. For more information, call (+632) 576 – 3082 or click here.

Food at Bohol Bee Farm

Breakfast for those staying at Bohol Bee Farm consists of fresh vegetables and fruits with hearty Filipino staples such as tocino and daing thrown in the mix. While not vast, the spread had enough options to keep every guest satisfied. Here's a small portion of what to expect:

We also had dinner at Bohol Bee Farm and appreciated the restaurant's emphasis on healthy/organic eating. Our favorite of the night was the Spicy Flower Salad which not only had a beautiful presentation but also delivered in the flavor department.

Bohol Bee Farm is also known for its ice cream because of the ice cream's unique cassava cone. Good to try once but truthfully nothing to write home about.

When in Bohol, I would recommend a meal at Bohol Bee Farm because food is good and thoughtfully prepared. It's also a welcome break from the usual grilled/seafood fare we always end up having while on a local holiday.

Bohol Bee Farm is located at Dau, Dauis, Panglao Island, Bohol, Philippines. For more information, call (+63)38-510-1822, email,  or click here.

Staying at Bohol Bee Farm

Bohol was the second stop during our three city trip in the Visayas. We took a two hour ferry via Ocean Jet from Dumaguete to reach Tagbilaran.

From the port, we went to Bohol Bee Farm to spend one night in the popular island of Panglao. We first explored the property and appreciated its quaint country vibe:

Bohol Bee Farm has a store that sells mostly organic and eco-friendly items. Do drop-by if looking for random knickknacks to bring back home.

When it was time to finally rest, we headed to Ubay, a family room big enough to  accommodate 5 people.

Our room at Bohol Bee Farm reminded me of a rustic cottage and it was a charming enough place to spend the night.

Bohol Bee Farm offers good value but one thing that sets it back is its far location from the beach. The fact that it takes 15 minutes to get to Alona beach is something travellers should keep in mind when deciding on where to stay in Bohol.

Bohol Bee Farm is located at Dau, Dauis, Panglao Island, Bohol, Philippines. For more information, call (+63)38-510-1822, email,  or click here.
